ReplyDeleteSocial media plays an important role in today's society.Social media such as Internet, has become a medium for companies to advertise their products and make contacts with other company from different country.Not only that, even our government supports social media by using social media such as twitter and facebook to spread the 1Malaysia message.It has becomes the most quickest way to spread the message to everyone in the country.As for me, Social media has affected me in many ways.Facebook, for example,helps me to reconnect with my old friends and relatives.The easiest way for me to get an update from them since I'm always using the internet.Furthermore,social media has help me alot by getting information and updates about my favourite band and artist within seconds.Besides that, it has help me alot with research for my assignments.Social media has gives me alot of information about my surroundings and i'm looking forward to more of it.

Social media is a way where information being spread through media. Internet has widely been used by many people to get themselves connected.
ReplyDeleteWith a click of your finger, we can get all kind of information and resources we want. This way made life much easier than before and technologies is advancing everyday, example, we can even surf the internet through our hand phone and get whatever we want.
This phenomena too gave us opportunity to give our opinion or to voice out through blogs, Facebook, Twitter and much more. I get to connect with other people around the world to share thoughts and discuss about a certain topic. It is a source of entertainment and at the same time we gain knowledge even though we gain not much from it. Thus, this actually improving our life for the better.

Social media is the medium in which every individual has the ability to disseminate information to the masses through social interactions. Entertainment and news are no longer limited only to wealthy private companies or government agencies propagating information as they feed it to the target audience, the audience now have the power to share and discuss topics openly. In a society where information is power, everyone now has the power. This can also be the bane of society as since anyone has the power to broadcast information, the information being shared could be tainted with malice. Social media is a strong medium in which society interacts with and evolves together symbiotically.

Currently, Social Media is a big part of our daily lives.For most of us we are sure to use the social media available to us almost everyday. This is because social media is an extremely convenient way to spread and obtain information to and from a wide population. For example,currently one of the most popular online social media is Facebook. There are masses of people all around the world who log on to the social media to communicate with others and it has also become a way to spread news very quickly.
ReplyDeleteAnother example of social media is DeviantART. This social media is mainly used by artists to display their artworks, communicate with artists from around the world, do art trades , learn about new art forms and many others.I personally use this social media quite frequently.
Social media also helps boosts businesses as the can become an affordable way of advertising a company's products or services. Companies also use it to obtain more customers worldwide. Other than that, it can also serve as a mode of entertainment. Websites such as YouTube, Second Life, Newgrounds provides us with entertainment and at the same time lets us interact with others.
In conclusion, Social Media plays a vital role in our society today, it is hard to imagine a world without it.

ReplyDeleteExample of social media is Skype where we can communicate each other and where we can get free phone call everyday and every time through the Internet.It is the easiest way to get communicate them and get a free call from them who is far away from us, such as in different countries and nations.Furthermore such as Facebook,Myspace,Yahoo Messenger, IMVU it is also the examples of the social media where mostly people get chat through into it and online in 24 hours per day, where they can obtain a lot of import information or learn everything about their lives and cultures is the fastest way.
Besides that DA,(DeviantArt) is also one of the examples of social media, it is where all the artist can get to share all their artworks with people around the world and it is the fastest way that they can submit their artwork through this sites.Other than that, they can get a lot of comments from others people about their artwork, thus this can help them a lot to improve their skills in arts and they can gain a lot of knowledge and experiences from others people..
Social media does effect the lives of those around me and quite useful in my daily life as well.Furthermore, it reconnect our long lost relationship so it won't fade away through our memories and the bonds of people around me getting stronger everyday.

ReplyDeleteSocial media is a way to connect, spread information and promote one's ideas, products, or thought. Depending on the user itself. As internet has become an essential tools in our daily life, so has social media.
ReplyDeleteAs to say, sites like Facebook, and Twitter helps one to spread their ideas or news. . Facebook for example is the most popular form of social media at the present. As it have the settings that allows one to post in on updates about their activities and allow them to follow up on others too. Companies also uses these as a way to promote their products, by means news, status, or survey that they posted from time to time.
For artist, the most essential universal application would be the site called Deviantart or DA for short. Its a site that connects artist and fans from round the globe as they share the same passion. I myself am an avid user of this site because I can keep up to date with what style is in and what style is not. Artistic tutorials and unlimited fan arts are also what draws me to DA, and the comments made on the arts that I uploaded into the site helps me figure out what I need to improve and what the fans nowadays expects out of me and what I expects out of others.
Even MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game) are used to promote real life products. One such example is the rated Top 10 most romantic game 2010 by GempakStarz tm; HighStreet5(MY/SG). As the in-game items are based on products from newest fashion line. The newest musics or songs are also promoted through this game that is dance-song related. And its vast community in the server connects the players from Malaysia and Singapore of whom share the same passion - be it music, dance steps, or fashion line- with one another, regardless of religions and races.

@Farah: I agree that the information or data that we receive depends on the speed of the Internet and it is the fastest things where we will receive it and get to connect to the people around us and thus it helps a lot for us to improve our relationship by using it.

ReplyDeleteSkype is a software that allows users to make voice and video calls over the internet for free. But i have to disagree on the "free" part, since you still have to pay for the internet.
Facebook and Myspace are widely known by younsters nowadays, some being as young as 7 years old! (Kids nowadays usually cheat their age) They are still immature and tend to expose information such as their home address to complete strangers.
IMVU, on the other hand, is a graphical instant messaging client. However, I feel that it is unsuitable for minors, as some graphics contain sexual elements.

I agree that social media today helps improve relationships between people, especially those who are far from us.
Family and friends can re-connect even though they live halfway across the world though sites such as Facebook and Myspace.
However, Facebook, Myspace, Neopets, and IMVU does not help us gain much knowledge.
First of all, Neopets is a virtual pet website. The most it can do is to teach us moral values such as not mistreating the "pet" by not letting it go hungry (though it will never die).
Facebook and Myspace helps people to keep in touch with family and friends.
IMVU is out of the question. The tag line says "Chat and Dress Up. Shop in Style, Meet New People, Create Your Own Designs."

ReplyDeleteI love how you use the term, "To give power to people". Social media has this kind of ability. However, from that statement, it shows that sometime social media gives too much power for the user as they can use these application for negative purposes.

I agree with Goku's reply, IMVU is a good and interactive way to communicate with other users. However, even with the legal pass system in the chat that requires age restriction for better products and interaction, the public interaction and modification of IMVU is still considered as unsuitable fr children, thus it doesn't make such a good example of a social media.

ReplyDeleteSocial media, is, a very convenient and fast way to obtain and spread information while keeping in touch with anyone and everyone in and out of our social circle, however for that reason companies and various individuals are hijacking that purpose to saturate the minds of the audience with their information.
The reason? To bombard the audience with positive information about the subject they choose. It could be a product or a strong idea intended to be seeded subjectively into the audience.

Facebook, Friendster, Myspace, Deviantart, Twitter, has dramatically changed the way we interact with other people. Then, our social circle was as large as where we could go physically. These days, our social web can stretch to the ends of the earth. People we could never had dreamed to have talked to are within our reach. Information and feedback now can travel as far as we could want it to.
As time progresses, social media is breaking down barriers constraining us from discovering new ideas and information from around the world.
